Houston, TX, is a place many of you have not had the pleasure of visiting. And we know there will be a lot of questions about traveling here and about the 2026 Thomas Family Reunion itself. So, here are a set of general questions to provide some answers. If you can't find what you are looking for, please contact us with any specific question and we will try and get you the answer! Questions
How can I be involved in planning? We currently have 9 family members participating on our reunion committee. But ALL IDEAS and SUPPORT are welcomed! Feel free to reach out to Ben Madry via this site or text to 979-235-7971!
Which airport should I fly into? There are two airports, George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and William P. Hobby (HOU). IAH is a hub for United, but services all major airlines. However, HOU is the hub for Southwest Airlines, but services some of the other airlines. IAH is about a 45 minute drive to the hotels and HOU is about a 40 minute drive.
Which of the 2 hotels should I choose? The main event will be held at the Hyatt Place. However, the Courtyard by Marriott is just across the drive from the Hyatt. We are offering 2 hotels for variety and an opportunity for those with hotel points for use.
What transportation will we be using? There are no plans for coordinated transportation for the family. We suggest working with members of the family traveling during similar times. Houston has an ample supply of cabs, Uber and Lyft drivers should you choose these options.
How can I learn more about our family history? Over the coming months, we will be providing information about our family and offer creative ways to learn! Additionally, we expect to present more of our research during the reunion!
